Menu cards, boarding passes & event registration
Working with Derk-Jan on organizing his birthday party was an absolute pleasure. The event revolved around the theme of aviation and airplanes, reflecting his deep passion—and entire professional life—dedicated to aviation. As a fellow aviation enthusiast, I couldn’t have imagined a more exciting concept to bring to life.
For this project, I designed a set of visual materials, including menu cards, boarding passes, and message cards, and managed the event registration process.
Menu card
The map on the left side of the menu highlighted key moments in Derk-Jan’s company history. These milestones were cleverly reflected in the dishes served throughout the evening.
I opted for an elegant, minimalist design, keeping in mind that the dinner was the more formal part of the entire celebration. The geographic coordinates marked the event location—a subtle nod to aviation that I simply couldn’t resist!
Boarding passes
The party’s concept took guests on a “flight” to each new destination. Every guest received a personalized boarding pass guiding them to a different seat for every course. This clever idea added a playful twist to the evening and encouraged everyone to mingle and meet new people!
